Happy anniversary!
Apr 10, 2008 4:53 PM
Eugene Rubin, UFT liaison to the committee, and Committee Chair Carolyn Herbst tempt the assembled committee members with the anniversary cake.
There was champagne and cake to celebrate the 17th anniversary of the UFT Committee for Members Who are Capably Disabled. A responsive crowd turned out at UFT headquarters to participate in the March 18 celebration and meeting, which featured Hannah Rudstam, a member of the faculty of Cornell University International Labor Relations School, Employment and Disability Institute. She spoke of pending legislation related to the Americans with Disabilities Restoration Act of 2007, reasonable accommodations and recent cases pertaining to job discrimination and other related topics.
Rudstam holds the undivided attention of participants as she covers ADA issues.
