You can count on them

Members who had 100 percent attendance at the Delegate Assembly for the last school year were honored and treated to dinner at union headquarters in Manhattan on Oct. 14. UFT President Michael Mulgrew praised them, saying how much the union depends on the work they do. He told delegates that the strength of the union comes from them, adding that their dependability was appreciated. “You have always been there for us,” Mulgrew added. Outside of direct voting by the members, the Delegate Assembly is the highest decision-making body in the union.
Mulgrew lets the delegates know how important they are.
The event was also a time for networking with other delegates. Pictured here are (from left) Pedro Serrano of MS 167 in Manhattan, Ilyana Frias of PS 811 (the Connie Lekas School) in Brooklyn, Rashad J. Brown of MS 224 in the Bronx, Katrina Foye of PS 398 in Brooklyn and Monique Green of PS 221 in Brooklyn.
Enjoying the honor they received are (from left) Catherine Scott of Bronx Engineering and Technical Academy, Ricardo Hoyen of PS 723 in the Bronx, Brenda Hutto of Acorn Community HS in Brooklyn, Frank Anderson and Roderick Palton, both of PS 231 in Brooklyn.
