The third annual Literacy Night at PS 289 brought 140 families — moms, dads and kids — to the Brooklyn school for an evening of entertainment, storytelling, good food and a chance to collaborate on a family autobiography. Each year attendance grows. Firefighters from the local firehouse were on hand with literature and the local library provided library cards.
