DOE discounts
May 8, 2008 1:17 PM
Like all New Yorkers, you expect to get it for less. So here are some good bargains for educators, whether you want to talk on your cell, finally buy that new computer, make photocopies, get buff at the gym, read the newspaper in your bathrobe or have a night at the theater.
Check out the deals below that the Department of Education is promoting for its employees. Please bear in mind that while the UFT wants to spread the news about all good things coming to members, these are DOE offers. In some instances, you can get more information only via the phone numbers and Web addresses below, or by going to the Employee Discount Page. Even though some of these discounts are from non-union companies, none are on the boycott list.
Are 14-year-olds laughing at your computer?
Maybe it’s time to get new equipment. Dell, Apple, HP and Epson all offer discounts to DOE employees.
Dell offers a 10% discount on all Dell Dimension Desktops or Inspiron Notebooks to all New York City DOE employees, faculty and staff. Visit http://www.dell.com/nycdoe/epp for more information.
Apple offers a discount of up to 10 percent on all its equipment including iPods and Mac laptops and desktop computers. Software sold through the online store is also discounted for DOE employees. Call 1-800-692-7753 or click on the link to the Apple Store for NYC DOE Educators on the DOE Web site’s Employee Discounts page. For additional information, contact Ted Newman at 1-800-800-2775, extension 46834 or e-mail him at tedn@apple.com.
To take advantage of these discounts, call 1-800-MY APPLE (800-692-7753) or visit the Apple Store for NYC DOE Educators.
Through Epson's Partner Purchase program you'll receive special pricing ranging from 10-15% off most Epson ink jet printers, impact printers, scanners and projectors, plus supplies and accessories. Go to program features for more information.
Microsoft offers 28 percent off Microsoft Office Outlook Live and discounts on other Microsoft products.
Got copies?
