Students obese? Try clog dancing

It may not beat slam dancing for burning calories, but one entrepreneur thinks his passion for heavy-hoofed clogging is the perfect treatment for childhood obesity. Atticus Sumner, founder of the Michigan-based Cottonwood Cloggers, envisions a network of after-school clubs where children would participate in a physical activity that would make them thinner and healthier. He’s even setting up franchises under the slogan “A million taps for a million kids,” and says, “It creates an atmosphere where nobody’s left out.” Clogging is the official state dance of Kentucky and North Carolina.
