New president’s School Visits photo gallery
Teachers and staff at PS 241 in Brooklyn get set to talk about what matters — and enjoy some bagels during the Sept. 30 school visit.
At school visits throughout the city, President Michael Mulgrew has been sharing his concerns about looming midyear budget cuts and challenges to the teaching profession. At the same time, he has been fielding questions from members about how contract negotiations are going, the overload of paperwork in the schools, and local issues that surface in each school community.
These visits are a great way to take the pulse of educators and to share information from every borough and school.
But someone said a picture is worth a thousand words, and these visits also provide an array of photos to share.
With a new, easy-to-access online photo gallery, you can not only view the photos, but also share them with friends or post them to your Facebook page. You’ll find the school visits sorted by borough and arranged alphabetically by school name or number for your viewing pleasure!
If President Mulgrew has been to your school, or even if he hasn’t, it’s something you’ll want to check out.
Teachers, like Reginald Simeon here, had a chance to air their views at IS 68 in Brooklyn.
Discussing the new school year after a meeting with President Michael Mulgrew at PS 19 in Manhattan are (from left) pre-K teacher Jennifer Ho, kindergarten teacher Stephanie LoPinto and UFT District 1 Representative Donna Manganello.
At PS 33 in the Bronx, a large group gets together to meet with the union president.
At the UFT Elementary Charter School in Brooklyn, Mulgrew takes students’ questions on Sept. 23 as School Leader Michelle Bodden looks on.
