TransitBenefit deductions not made in some members’ checks

The Department of Education informed the UFT that the city failed to make the May 16 TransitBenefit TSA card deduction for 421 pedagogues and paraprofessionals in their May 16 paychecks.

On the May 31 check there will be an arrears deduction for May 16 and a regular deduction for May 31. The amount of the deduction depends on each employee’s individual plan. TSA is a PIN-based debit card which can be used to purchase MetroCards from MTA vending machines.
