New fertility care program offered
Apr 24, 2008 4:44 PM
Starting June 1, the fertility medication benefit program available to UFT members through the city’s PICA program will be available exclusively from Freedom Fertility Pharmacy.
Freedom offers personalized care; drug coverage; a team composed of a member’s own care coordinator, registered pharmacist and registered nurse specialist; toll-free assistance 24 hours per day, seven days per week; free express shipping; free patient educational materials including a printed and online injection guide; and emergency same-day services.
PICA is the city health program that covers two types of drugs — injectable and chemotherapy.
Freedom Fertility Pharmacy, the leading national firm offering fertility care, is associated with Express Scripts, the Welfare Fund’s mail-order pharmacy. As with Express Scripts, physicians may fax prescriptions to Freedom — at 1-888-660-4283 — and pharmacists are on call around the clock. Freedom also offers free needles, syringes and supplies; USP 797-compliant sterile compounding and a dedicated full-time donor egg pharmacy services team.
Members can get additional information by calling 1-800-660-4283 or online at www.freedomfertility.com.
