Letters to the Editor

50 in a class

To the Editor:

I am a physical education teacher who teaches approximately 844 students a week and I teach approximately 50-55 students a class. So when I read the article “Time to make low class size a reality” [Dec. 6], I am left to wonder if that would include physical education classes. If not, why not? Teaching 50 or more students is educationally unsound no matter what subject! I can only hope that in the next collective-bargaining agreement that lower class size is addressed for physical education classes also.
