Letters to the Editor

Teachers must also determine tenure

To the Editor:

It was disturbing that the mayor wants to use retired principals as well as standing principals to get rid of teachers without tenure. We must be sure that our teachers — retired and active — are in the process so that it is not one-sided.

Political pressure may be the cause of the firing as well as union activism. Teachers must be part of the process if it is to be fair.
