The rewards of teaching the arts

To the Editor:

I appreciated Natalie Bell’s article, “Exploring your imagination,” [April 24] which captured the essence of what Lincoln Center Institute is about. Using the arts as a springboard, we teaching artists partner with such dedicated teachers as Felicia Brodsky of PS 88 in Queens and help students to become critical thinkers by stimulating their curiosity and imagination.

My work as a Lincoln Center Institute teaching artist continues to be extremely rewarding and has informed my work as a professional musician in addition to helping me continue to develop as an educator. My LCI colleagues and I look forward to collaborating with teachers and students throughout the schools and hope to meet even more teachers at the upcoming LCI summer workshops.

Thank you for publishing Ms. Bell’s informative piece on LCI’s program, which I know will inspire, motivate and enlighten everyone who participates in it!
