To the Editor:
I saw a bumper sticker today that encouraged me. It said, “Steam Pipe Fitters Union: UNIONS — The folks who brought you the weekend.”
I would love if the UFT created a number of pro-
teacher and pro-union bumper stickers to sell on the UFT Web site. The UFT could even give them away as holiday gifts this year. If I were non-union, seeing the “weekend” sticker would encourage me to think of unions in a more positive light.
In our teachers’ lounge is another sticker I like. It says, “There are people who should be running the country, but they are too busy teaching.”
