Retired Teachers Chapter News

Most new retirees may be receiving dues refunds

UFT/RTC members who received vacation paychecks for July and August at the end of June may have noticed that deductions were made for UFT dues. The checks were prepared before their retirements became effective and the usual deductions were made.

If you are one of these members you are entitled to a refund for these deductions after the date of your retirement. But if you retired at the end of August, you are not entitled to any refund.

We just received the necessary data from TRS and we will be processing these refunds.

If you have not received your refund by Dec. 31, 2007, please contact the UFT Accounting Department by submitting copies of your July and August 2007 pay stubs. Mail them to the Accounting Department, 52 Broadway, 11th Floor, New York, NY 10004. Attn: Charles Baker.
