Termination pay for 2007

For members who retired this summer, your check representing the first part of your three termination payments (CAR, your sick bank, which is equal to half the total days remaining multiplied by 1/200 of your annual salary) will be processed for payment when the Department of Education receives your OP44 (Application for Termination Pay) and processes your Final Entitlement.

It is our understanding that as of Sept. 14 the schools will have the first payment for the majority of our members who retired July 1. The DOE is making every effort to process payment for the remainder of summer retirees for Oct. 1. Members should contact their last payroll school to see if there is a check for them. Members who retired during the summer and have not received their first termination payment by Oct. 1 should contact the UFT Retiree Pension Department at 1-212-598-9536.
