We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are looking forward to a restorative winter break.

There will be a District 75 Resource and Wellness Fair on Friday, Dec. 8, at PS 140, 141 Macon St., from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Learn about resources for healthcare, advocacy and more for families of children with disabilities.   • Thursday, Dec. 7: There will be a workshop in Spanish about applying for community grants at 5:30 p.m. at 1501 Broadway, Suite 410, in Manhattan. Learn how to make your idea for your community a reality. See the flier in Spanish »
  • Now until Sunday, Dec. 10: Families, students and people of all ages are invited to participate in worldwide Hour of Code events this week. One-hour coding tutorials are available in 45 languages. Schools and organizations are also hosting local coding tutorials all over the world. Learn more or find an event near you »
  • Sunday, Dec. 10: The Park Slope Armory YMCA will host a free City of Science event, a day of discovery in Brooklyn, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Drop in to enjoy fun, interactive science exhibits. See the website »
  • Friday, Dec. 15: Come to a conference titled Interrupting the School to Prison Pipeline from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Central Library, 10 Grand Army Plaza. There will be speakers and workshops geared toward keeping children in classrooms and out of jail cells. Breakfast and lunch will be served, and Spanish interpretation will be available.   • Sunday, Jan. 21: There will be a workshop about how to address race in early childhood classrooms from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Central Library of the Brooklyn Public Library, 10 Army Plaza.   • Kindergarten admissions are open until Jan. 12: To apply for your first choice of kindergarten programs, families with children born in 2013 should apply online, by phone or in person by Friday, Jan. 12. Find out more »
