Mulgrew on student walkouts to protest gun violence

On March 14, 2018, students across the country, including many in New York City, participated in a national student walkout to advocate for stronger gun legislation in the wake of February's school shooting in Florida.

In response, UFT President Michael Mulgrew issued the following statement:

Our New York City students, and students across the country are very clear: they don’t want to live with fear, and they are tired of waiting for Washington to stand up to the NRA. I was proud to stand with some of the students today as they made their voices heard.
