Resolution on wearing red on Feb. 14 to show union support

WHEREAS, with the U.S. Supreme Court set to hear oral arguments in the Janus v. AFSCME court case on Monday, Feb. 26, a new and dangerous phase for public-sector unions, including the UFT, is about to begin, which could imperil all the rights and benefits the labor movement has fought for over the years;

WHEREAS, UFT members can withstand this threat – and preserve our right and benefits – if we stay united; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the UFT will ask its members to wear red to work on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, to show their support for their union.
