Medicare needs ability to negotiate drug prices

New York Teacher

The drug industry is making the largest profits it ever has made because Medicare does not have the right to negotiate prices. Medicaid and the Veterans Administration have this right, but Medicare does not.

This injustice must be corrected. Seniors are now giving the drug industry huge wealth at their expense. Seniors cannot afford to make the drug companies richer by the day while needing funds for their families and themselves.

The UFT must make it a priority. Medicare must have the right to negotiate drug prices.
