Barbara Kubota, Age 71

Barbara Kubota passed away on June 13, 2014. She was an ESL teacher at PS 90 Queens and retired from Queens Vocational HS. She got her TESOL license from Adelphi University.

After her retirement, Barbara moved to Ridgewood, NJ from Astoria, Queens. She enjoyed her time as a world traveler, as well as tutoring students to improve their English skills. She will be missed by her colleagues and friends who remember her — especially for her political views, which she always had to share out loud.

She is survived by her daughter Nina Kubota and her partner Hideki Kubota.
