President Michael Mulgrew blames mayor for blowing up deal

At a Jan. 17 press conference at union headquarters, UFT President Michael Mulgrew said that the DOE and the UFT had reached an agreement in the early hours of the morning, but the mayor blew it up. “The current administration only wants to play politics with children,” he said.
