Aetna plan on hold pending court review

The Aetna Medicare Advantage PPO plan, originally slated to go into effect on Sept. 1, 2023, is on hold indefinitely due to ongoing litigation. That means, for now, city retiree health care plans and benefits remain the same. We will keep members updated as things progress. See the MLC statement on the court's decision

Read the latest updates and information on the Aetna Medicare Advantage PPO, the city's premium-free health plan for Medicare-eligible municipal retirees, below.

Visit Aetna's website or read the Aetna FAQ to learn more, or see the UFT's FAQ on the Aetna Medicare Advantage PPO plan.

The NYC Health Benefits Program section for retirees on the NYC Office of Labor Relations website is another helpful resource.

If you have questions about the plan that are not addressed in these resources, call the dedicated Aetna Member Services hotline for city retirees at (855) 648-0389, 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. ET, Monday - Friday. You can also contact the UFT at (646) 878-9717 or email us at HealthBenefitHelp@uftwf.org.
