Ebola virus

Ebola is a severe, often fatal, disease caused by the Ebola virus. A person is at risk of infection if he or she comes into direct contact with the blood or bodily fluids of a person who is both infected and showing symptoms. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the virus is not transmitted through the air or water.
