Students, teachers and parents formed a huge peace symbol in the schoolyard of PS 69 in Jackson Heights in celebration of International Peace Day on Sept. 21. The John Lennon Educational Bus, which tours schools bringing its message of peace through music, was a big part of the celebration. It conducted tours of its state-of-the-art mobile audio and video studio for 11 classes throughout the day. After school, families and former students were invited to join the tours. Chapter Leader Deborah Strack-Cregan said the school, which puts a strong emphasis on the arts, recruited more than 850 participants to help form the human peace symbol.
