PS 100 in South Brooklyn on June 3 opened its new UFT Teacher Center, the product of a strong working relationship between Chapter Leader Joanne Bullaro, Assistant Principal Tabatha Romano and Principal Katherine Moloney. “I’m fortunate as a chapter leader that I’m able to collaborate with my principal on these types of projects,” Bullaro said. “The Teacher Center will provide support for our staff and students.” Moloney spoke of her enthusiasm for the new center. “Now we have a Teacher Center that can help to nurture, develop and grow professionally the talented teachers in our school,” she said. “I was thrilled to have the opportunity to open a UFT Teacher Center.” Roughly 50 celebrants were also on hand for the festivities, which included performances by the school’s 4th- and 5th-grade dance troupe and chorus. The next step, Bullaro said, is a meeting of the faculty to decide what professional development they’d like to have. Angela Papadopoulos will staff the site.
