Annotating assessments

New York Teacher

Image

When my students take any kind of assessment, we start by annotating the directions and questions to ensure that everyone understands what they need to do. When students get their assessments back, we complete a yellow reflection card that asks them to put the standard they were assessed on in their own words, explain how they know they are mastering the standard, what they still struggle with and what helped them to do well. Then, each student gets to decide if they want their work displayed or filed away.
