This is my first year teaching. My students and I decided to focus on creating one significant goal to reach in math. They ranged from "memorizing basic multiplication facts by June" to "checking that I label my answer with units 80 percent of the time." Then students created a plan. The plan needed to include an action, a time and a location. We took pictures with our goals and hung them up for everyone to see! Once a week, we have a meeting about our progress. The students are so proud.
