To align with our social studies lesson on maps and directions, my students and I created a map of our neighborhood. Students created all of the buildings and parks and labeled the street signs and the cardinal points. After we figured out where to place our school, it was fun for our class to figure out where to place other buildings. Students were most excited to place their own apartment buildings on the map.
