My unique group of 3rd-grade self-contained students published their own class book titled "Nine Rays of Sunshine — Our Guide to good Character." The book depicts nine traits that are needed for good character, and the students learned valuable lessons about citizenship, honesty, respect, courage, cooperation, consideration and responsibility. They learned a great deal about the publishing process while they improved their vocabulary and writing skills. The culmination of this project was their bulletin board display, which celebrated the students' hard work.
