Our classroom quilt

Before my 9th-grade ELA students read "A Quilt of a Country" by Anna Quindlen, they created personal identity projects that were divided into three parts: "I am," "We are" and "I will become." For each partr, they wrote a parapgrah and designed a matching visual. Their individual identity projects were then folded in half and interwoven together with their group members to create a square quilt. Then, all the group quilts were interwoven into one large class quilt that represents the beauty and diversity of my students.
