Tools to support students with IEPs

New York Teacher

Here are some tools I use that support students with IEPs to participate in the least restrictive environment. Clockwise from top left: An individualized co-created chart that supports stamina during reading workshop; a "10-book challenge" mat (take out 10 books from your bag, stack them in the order you want to read them on the green dot, read them one at a time and move each one to the red dot after you read it); a break-space chart paired with two choice cards that students can hand in for two five-minute breaks at any point in the day; and an incentive chart to reinforce positive behaviors in the classroom.
