For teachers and paraprofessionals, the workday on Tuesday, Sept. 3, is 6 hours and 50 minutes. Tuesday should be utilized for preparation and planning for the new school year. Teachers must be given sufficient time to prepare their classrooms, which is usually at least half a day. If time permits, the remainder of the day may be utilized for professional development.
School secretaries, attendance teachers, nurses, therapists, lab specialists and technicians, psychologists and social workers follow the regular contractual work day on Sept. 3.
Wednesday, Sept. 4, is a Chancellor’s Conference Day of Staff Development. It is a 6 hours and 50 minute workday.
