I hope all of you have been staying warm during this very cold winter we have had. Spring is coming!
I am sure many of you join me in welcoming the new administration at the Department of Education and look forward to a more collaborative working relationship under the direction of our new chancellor. We will continue to make sure our rights are protected and that we work in an environment that is safe and stimulating. It appears we have a new administration that will respect us and listen to us. Let us hope for the best.
We had an exciting meeting on Professional Day, November 5, 2013. HES related-services providers from all five boroughs attended, which was very commendable. That rarely happens. We exchanged ideas and shared information about our field. It was a great way to stay connected with each other. I know that many who attended found it to be a very satisfying meeting.
