Welcome back to a new school year!
I hope you had a restful and fun summer with your families and loved ones.
Now as we start a new year we will have new challenges that we will all rise up to meet with each other’s and our union’s support.
Remember that your union is here for you. Visit the UFT website any time and use the tools there, such as the Frequently Asked Questions page, the Ask the Union tool and the contract search bar. You can also find contact information for your UFT borough office, where there are always staff to assist you with issues and questions.
You should also regularly check our Hearing Education Services chapter page, which I will update regularly throughout the school year with news, events and information pertinent to our chapter.
And always feel free to contact me at email@example.com with any questions specific to Hearing Education Services.
Let’s work together as a chapter this school year. Together, we can support each other to give our wonderful hearing impaired students the support, encouragement and assistance they need.
Hearing Education Services secretaries
I want to make sure you all know that Hearing Education Services has two secretaries: Lynn Pasquariello is the secretary serving HES paraprofessionals. Carol Goodrich is the secretary for all HES teachers. They are here to assist you with any of your school business, so be sure to reach out to them and use their services.
Labor Day parade on Saturday, Sept. 12
Unions and the labor movement are crucial to the dignity and living standards of teachers and other working people across our country. Let's show our unity and strength and let's have fun doing it! Please join your fellow UFT members at the Labor Day parade on Saturday, Sept. 12!
The UFT contingent will be gathering at 9:30 a.m. at West 45th St. between 6th and 7th avenues.
The parade will begin at 11:30 a.m. We will proceed up 5th Avenue to 64th Street. It promises to be a fun event that will bring together UFT members from across the city.
