How to figure out your annual salary by looking at your biweekly paycheck
- Add together the recurring gross, recurring education differential and recurring longevity differential that appear on your paychecks.
- Divide the total by 14 (for the number of calendar days).
- Multiply that amount by 365 (366 during a leap year).
NOTE:Â On your check there is one amount for longevity. It is composed of your longevity A and longevity B. If you subtract your applicable A and B longevity amounts from the total longevity amount shown on your check, the balance is your longevity for 5, 7, 10, 15, 20 or 22 years.
How to understand your paycheck
There are five components that make up the gross annual salary for therapists:
- Base plus experience differential
- Education differential
- Longevity differential A*
- Longevity differential B*
- Longevity differential
*Payments for longevity differentials A and B shall be effective on the Jan. 1 or July 1 subsequent to the employee’s anniversary date. The longevity differential A becomes pensionable after it is received for two years. Longevity B is pensionable immediately.
