Public schools can win cash prizes for their school by applying for the Department of Sanitation’s Zero Waste Schools Contests by Friday, May 3 at 5 p.m.

The categories are:

• RCP’s Super Recyclers – Awarding excellent school recycling programs in accordance with DSNY regulations.
• MFTA’s Reduce & Reuse Challenge – Acknowledges creative reuse projects.
• CCNYC’s Team Up to Clean Up – Rewards schools that conceive, design, and implement effective cleanup and beautification projects, including school gardens.
• Zero Waste Schools Challenge - A compliance and data-driven contest specifically for the first 100 ZWS and Zero Waste Pledge Schools.
