Brooklyn Parent Newsletter - March 2022

News Stories

Dear parents and caregivers,

I hope you and your family is doing well and enjoying the spring sunshine.

March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month. This is very personal to me because I lost my father to this disease. Colon cancer is the second leading cancer killer in the U.S., and early detection is key to effective treatment. I began testing earlier and more frequently than most because of my family history, but most adults should start getting screened regularly at age 45. Ask your doctor when and how often you should be tested. Adults at average risk have several options for screening tests including some that can be done at home. Learn more about screening options.

March is also Women's History Month. This is a great chance to celebrate and learn more about trailblazing women who made history and helped create a better world for women. Learn more about women's history.
