Ramping up efforts to elect Hillary Clinton, seven labor groups joined forces with For Our Future, a Democratic super PAC, and raised $60 million to mobilize working families for the presidential candidate in battleground states.
“We are really proud of the cross-section of labor, progressive groups and individuals who have invested in this critical ground-game operation to win on Nov. 8,” said Amanda Brown, the head of For Our Future.
The PAC’s new labor partners include the Communications Workers of America, the National Association of Letter Carriers, United Steelworkers, United Automobile Workers and the American Federation of Government Employees. Each national union contributed $1 million to the cause.
Several other labor groups, including the American Federation of Teachers, the AFL-CIO and the National Education Association, already had pledged their support to the super PAC, with each organization donating more than $2 million. The AFT contributed $4.1 million.
