The New York State Education Department (NYSED) is inviting teachers to evaluate the NYSESLAT. Feedback from teachers and administrators who work with English Language Learners provide an important contribution to the test development program. All feedback will help to make improvements to the new NYSESLAT.
NYSED is also seeking feedback from educators on the weighting of the four modalities (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking) for the 2015 NYSESLAT. One option is to have each of the modalities contribute equally to the final score on the assessment. However, based on feedback that we receive from this survey and other sources, it is possible that some modalities may be more heavily weighted than others, either for all grades or specific grades.
The survey, which may be taken anonymously, should only take about two minutes to complete.
