Pedagogue retirees who are owed per session and/or per diem payments in accordance with the 2014 contract should have received their lump-sum arrears by direct deposit yesterday, March 12.
Checks will be mailed to the address on file with TRS to retirees who receive paper checks as soon as the payroll run is complete, which should be in the next day or so. A small number of members received their checks on March 10.
These payments to retirees are for work performed from Nov. 1, 2009 up until the date of their retirement.
Retirees who have been continuously employed in a per session activity where they have retention rights will receive lump-sum payments for their post-retirement work in accordance with the schedule from October 2015 through October 2020.
Any retiree who continues to be employed and meets the criteria as a per diem worker will also receive the lump-sum monies on the payment schedule from 2015 through 2020.
The DOE is hoping to have its payroll portal up and running by March 17, enabling retired members to access the payroll stubs and statements related to this lump-sum payment.
