Summer school applications open

The DOE has released its postings for summer school this year and is now accepting applications.

The Summer Rising 2022 program is open to all students in grades K-12 who wish to attend.

Teachers will receive mandated pre-service training, and instruction begins for students on Tuesday, July 5. The program runs from Monday to Thursday. The K-8 program, which has a four-hour instructional day, concludes on Aug. 11. The high school program, which has a five-hour instructional day, ends on Aug. 17. Check the individual postings for details.

The deadline to apply online for a summer position is Monday, May 23.

Retention rights will be honored for all positions that are offered. If you hold retention rights, were approved for a medical accommodation to work remotely in the 2020-21 school year and chose not to apply for the 2021 Summer Rising program, your retention rights will be honored for this year’s program.
