The recent disability fraud scam involving more than 100 former cops, firefighters and others is a disgrace. It was an insult to the many first responders to ground zero on 9/11 who legitimately deserve to receive their disability benefits after becoming ill from working at the site.

These characters already had their disability retirement, but that was not good enough for them. They should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and, at the very least, be ordered to repay every single dollar they unlawfully received.

Their actions are an insult to every hardworking police officer and firefighter in this city, both active and retired.
