End of Pearson’s contract

New York Teacher

Now that the State Education Department has decided to end its relationship with Pearson, the money saved could go a long way to helping students learn. Right now it looks like more of the same: funneling money outside of the school system and into the pockets of yet another for-profit third party. Why not provide that money directly to the professionals hired to teach? At least lighten their load by not forcing them to dig into their own pockets to provide class materials for their students.
