I’m not surprised by City Comptroller Scott Stringer’s report that arts education is underfunded. I am a full-time visual arts teacher. My students do not have dance, music or theater, other than what visiting organizations provide. All forms of art are a necessary outlet for children. Art education

should be increased, and we should have more supplies. My principal tries his best to provide arts for the students but is limited by the school budget.
