Language barriers

New York Teacher

After reading the story “Collaborative model shows promise” [March 3], I wonder if the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) teacher has a partnership with one teacher/one class for the whole year. That would be amazing! I’m familiar with “push in” models where the ESOL teacher jumps into different classes/grades every day for very short periods. They are spread thin and don’t have sufficient time to collaborate with all their partner teachers, and students don’t get enough support.
