I have a problem with the universal pre-K that the mayor is proposing. I teach 1st grade. I have 28 children in my class, as do my colleagues at this grade level. Before we talk about universal pre-K, why can’t we lower class size, especially in the early grades? Five fewer children in the classroom would benefit the children tremendously.
