If all you have to do is pass the test to be promoted, then why bother doing anything in class the other 177 days of the school year? Finally, with the chancellor’s change in the promotion policy she announced on April 9, we have a DOE decision that makes sense and takes into account what the teachers have to say about their students’ abilities.
