Solving an ‘alarming’ problem

New York Teacher

Placing alarms on school doors to protect our students isn’t the only solution. The city needs to hire a security force that will actually stop and question students before they leave as opposed to only being there to respond to major incidents after they have grown to unmanageable proportions.

The current school security officers, who are employees of the NYPD, are not required by their employers to stop or question students as they leave, or go after them when they do. A group needs to be brought in, or funds need to be allocated for more pedagogues, who will do this job to keep our students safe.
