National Paraprofessionals Appreciation Day took place on April 2. It’s funny how we have a national day, but when I mention my occupation to most people they are clueless.

We are the fine-tuned eyes and ears in these classrooms and hallways. We embrace the academic challenges that many people are blind to. And thank you for all the appreciation — but no matter how little recognition we receive, we will continue to support our children through the multifaceted challenges of school and provide tons of encouragement. (Especially during test time!)
