Thompson’s election critical

New York Teacher

To the Editor:

Younger teachers need to be more alert to what their financial positions will be in the next 10, 20 and 30 years. It is only because of union power that we older teachers were successful in that regard. The last 12 years, with an anti-union mayor, demonstrates the importance of having a mayor who is pro-children and pro-teacher.

All the teachers who live in New York City must come out to vote for William Thompson in the Democratic mayoral primary. Teachers who live outside the city must get involved in the election also by calling family members and friends who live in New York City and asking them to support William Thompson.

I have already made more than 20 calls. The fight for good schools never ends.
