President Trump went back on his promise to have Medicare negotiate prescription drug prices as the most effective way to reduce prices. His proposals all fall far short of that objective.
To illustrate, the drug industry was thrilled with his ideas. Why? Because Trump failed to go along with his promise. His proposals do not include the responsibility of Medicare to negotiate prices.
The union movement needs to take action to get Medicare involved in negotiating prices.
